The wins continue to pile up for Megan Thee Stallion. According to PageSix, the Houston Hottie is set to appear on one of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit covers in July. Megan Thee Stallion will be the first musician to grace the cover since her “Savage” collaborator Beyoncé accomplished the feat in 2007.
“She’s the biggest star [right now], so it’s a no-brainer and they love surprises,” a source said.
Sports Illustrated changed their approach in regards to their model selection process with the first transgender model of color and a COVID-19 nurse slated to also appear in the upcoming 2021 issue.
“She’s working on a new album,” a separate PageSix source added. “It makes sense that she would get a huge cover like that.”
While Meg or SI haven’t confirmed the news, fans will have to wait until the issue hits stands on July 19 to see if she’s on the prestigious cover. The Swimsuit look makes sense for Megan Thee Stallion as she launched her own swimsuit line in collaboration with Fashion Nova in June.
Megan Thee Stallion is still making money moves elsewhere. She’s teaming up with Cash App to give away $1 million in stocks to her fans. The 26-year-old is also going to star in Disney+’s She-Hulk where she’ll be playing herself. Her latest single “Thot Shit” reached a new peak of No. 16 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.
